While some areas of business like the music industry or the internet change constantly, there are some businesses that never seem to see change. The moving business is like that. The service of packing a family's possessions into a truck, driving to the new location and unpacking it is so basic that it really has never been a service that could be improved on. If you are not happy with how things are packed into the PODS unit, you can unload it and pack it again.

When you are done, the moving company simply comes and picks up the unit and takes it to your new location. They can store the PODS unit for you in their facility for a few weeks or for as long as you wish. Then when they deliver your furniture and household goods to your new home, you unpack it. Again, there is no rush on unloading so you can take items off slowly and put them in your new home in an orderly fashion. You don't have to endure that "out of control" feeling when you watch two or three big muscular moving men manhandling your possessions. It gives you, the owner of the stuff, complete control and security that the move is your move and you are running the show.

Small wonder this approach to moving has been such a big success. That feeling that your possessions are in the hands of strangers who you don't know if you can trust not to steal is eliminated because before that PODS unit leaves your home, it is locked up with your lock and you can inspect that lock when you get the unit back to be sure there was no compromise. It is a brilliant new approach to moving. And like all brilliant ideas, it has been a resounding success. PODS has quite literally created a revolution in the moving business for the better.
